Busy week

Here’s a montage of videos Laina put together.

Resurrection Sunday!! We took a break from the rotation of grits and oatmeal and had a special breakfast of pancakes and strawberries! It was so special getting to tell the kids (geared towards the younger half) the biblical history of Passover and then resurrection. I love it when they “get it”! Then we sang one of our favorite resurrection songs as a family. We walked over and sang it to the Elders as well. What a precious gift the Father gave us in His Son and what a sacrifice! What suffering Jesus went through! And what victory we have in His resurrection!! For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life!! John 3:16

1 Corinthians 15:51-58 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

This week the kids and Stephen got to get on some horses!! They have just LOVED it! It’s so exciting to see how the Lord has worked everything out for the kids to just keep expanding the things they get to experience and learn! There is so much opportunity out here, and I’m so grateful He put us here!

I’ve been looking on Craigslist for a few pieces of furniture for our new home and I found a 10 foot dining room table! Mr Elder wanted Stephen and I to take a day and pick it up. We met folks, picked up the pieces, loaded the table, 8 chairs, bunk bed set (which I also found on Craigslist), onto the trailer with our camping gear, and our freezer up to the Unity home. We were so excited to see where we would be moving to! I’ll keep it a surprise for now, but I’ll just say it’s so beautiful!! Can’t wait to get up there and make the house a home! My brain has been churning as to how to make things efficient for our family. I’m having such a good time!

The day was quite a long one! We left at about 9:30 am and drove to Nampa, ID to get the furniture, then up to Unity to drop it off, then back to Riverside. We didn’t get back home until just after midnight! What a long day!

The rest of the ranch chores for the week include gearing up to working cows and branding next Tuesday. The feedings have still been happening, horses are being prepared, fence work getting done and life still getting lived! We are all pretty excited to see what a branding is like!
